Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has charged members of the State Executive Council and Permanent Secretaries to begin planning for a strong legacy by visualizing the end of their tenure from day one.

Speaking at the ongoing Anambra State Executive Council Retreat, Governor Soludo tasked his team to immediately draft what their valedictory address would look like in March 2030 and then work systematically backwards to deliver on those commitments in line with the administration’s vision.

The retreat, which is being attended by top government officials, also marked the formal launch of Solution Team 2.0: Acceleration With Precision, a new phase of governance focused on rapid and targeted implementation of policies after the foundational work of the first phase.

Governor Soludo emphasized the administration’s determination to build a livable and prosperous smart megacity in Anambra, inspired by leading global tech and economic hubs.

He said the long-term goal is to position the state as a major driver of sustainable economic prosperity in Africa under Vision 2070.

The Governor highlighted two key cultural shifts required for this transformation: an enterprise-driven approach that harnesses the innovative spirit of Ndi Anambra to develop a vibrant technology hub, and the promotion of “homeland consciousness” encouraging citizens to invest, live, and spend within the state to stimulate domestic growth.

Prof. Soludo warned against the usual bureaucratic delays in public service, stressing that the people judge government not by the number of meetings held, but by visible and impactful changes on the ground.

He directed EXCO members to focus on high-impact, memorable legacy projects rather than spreading resources thinly across many small activities.

According to the Governor, success will be measured by tangible results that at least 40 percent of the population can agree have significantly improved their quality of life.

As part of the retreat, Governor Soludo carried out a detailed assessment of the state’s five pillars of development, directing all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to fully align their budgets, policies, and operations with these pillars for maximum efficiency.

The Governor made it cear that the era of procrastination is over as government business must now be conducted with greater speed, precision, and a relentless focus on delivering real outcomes for the people of Anambra State.
