The Deputy National Chairman of APC South, Dr. Ben Nwoye, says the Enugu State APC will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Peter Mbah for a second term, citing their developmental programmes and projects which have attracted widespread commendation.

Speaking at the Enugu East Senatorial Zone “Ofu Obi” Mega Rally at Michael Okpara Square, Enugu, Dr. Nwoye said Governor Mbah’s administration had transformed Enugu into an industrial hub. He noted that the large turnout at the rally reflected the governor’s growing popularity and justified the endorsement of both Mbah and President Tinubu for another term.

He commended stakeholders of the zone, including Senators Jim Nwobodo and Ken Nnamani, as well as Chief Nnoli Nnaji, urging them to mobilize support for the governor, the president and other party candidates in the 2027 elections.

Earlier, Chairman of the Sterling Committee of the rally, Deacon Okey Ogbodo, described the event as a significant step towards retaining a leader committed to the state’s transformation. He urged residents not to allow politics divide them and called on youths to remain law-abiding while encouraging women to sustain their support.

Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, praised Governor Mbah’s leadership and developmental strides, describing him as a visionary leader with strong implementation capacity. He appealed for support for Mbah’s second-term bid alongside President Tinubu.
Also speaking, former Governor of old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo, endorsed Governor Mbah and urged residents to support him because of his leadership qualities and developmental achievements.

The State APC Women Leader, Mrs. Esther Ede, led women and female political appointees in pledging support for the governor and encouraged eligible voters to obtain their PVCs ahead of 2027.
Responding, Governor Peter Mbah described the rally as massive and inspiring. He expressed appreciation for the endorsement, particularly the presentation of the Staff of Office (Ofor) by traditional rulers, which he said symbolized ancestral approval of his re-election bid.

Governor Mbah highlighted achievements of his administration, including the revival of industries, construction of smart schools and healthcare centres, provision of CNG buses and development of modern bus terminals. He also commended President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring that Enugu State would continue to partner with the Federal Government.

Dignitaries at the rally included the Minister of Science and Technology, Chief Kingsley Udeh; former Minister of Information, Mr. Frank Nweke Jr.; Minister of Culture and Creative Economy; Ambassador Amaka Nweke; Dr. Stephanie Amaka Ngene; and other party leaders.
