Governor Chukwuma Soludo has sworn-in 18 new Commissioners into the State Executive Council.
This followed their screening and confirmation by the Anambra State House of Assembly.
The Commissioners are, Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena who takes charge of Ministry of Agriculture, Mr. Chukwukadibia Okoye, Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning.
Chief Ugoji Amedu Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, and Dr. Ekene Ogugua Commissioner for Education.
Dr. Clem Aguiyi was sworn in as Commissioner for Environment, and Mr. Izuchukwu Okafor Commissioner for Finance.
Dr. Afam Obidike Commissioner for Health, with Dr. Law Mefor retaining the position of Information and Value Reorientation
Mr Tobechukwu Nweke, was named Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Professor Offornze Amucheazi, was reappointed as Commissioner for Lands,
Mr Vin Ezeaka Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs.
Others are Professor Charles Ofoegbu Commissioner for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Mr Chijioke Ojukwu Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, and Mr Casmir Chinenye Agummadu Commissioner for Power.
Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi was appointed Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mr Okey Ezeobi Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, and Mr. Patrick Agha Mba was reappointed as Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports.
Also inaugurated were the Managing Director, Anambra Road Traffic Agency, ARTMA, Mr. Emeka Okonkwo, Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, ACTDA, Dr. Ossy Onuko, MD, Information Communication Technology Agency, Mr Fred Agbata, as well as Managing Director, Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, Mr Obi Okonkwo.
The oath of office was administered on the appointees by the Attorney-General, Mr Nweke,
Speaking during the occasion Governor Chukwuma Soludo congratulated the officials and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by discharging their duties diligently.
The Governor welcomed them into what he described as “Solution 2.0,” and stressed that they should take the work seriously
