The Anambra State government says it will stop at nothing to ensure that the statutory laws regarding physical planning are strictly adhered to by property developers.
The new Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Mr Chijioke Ojukwu in an interview with Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Awka Uche Ndeke.
According to the Commissioner, there is an urgent need to correct the chaos in the physical planning sector of the state which is currently in distorted.
He said that the rules against building on flood plain areas needs to be enforced to the latter in other to achieve the dreams of the Governor Soludo led administration on physical planning.
Mr Ojukwu who observed that there have been low compliance with the enforcement of physical planning law said he will be leading the campaign to recover the glory of the state.
The Commissioner revealed that the Governor has promised to provide all the needed support to see that the newly created ministry succeed in its mandate.
He therefore called on all developers to comply with the existing laws as there won’t be any sacred cow in ensuring compliance.
