Two men are now in the net of Anambra State Police Command for allegedly producing and distributing adulterated alcoholic beverages in the state.
The names of the suspects were given as Ikechukwu Okeke, 42 years old, and Okeke Chukwuemeka, 38 years old.
They were apprehended in Uffa village Aguluzigbo, by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad following credible intelligence.
Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that they belong to a syndicate that specialises in the adulteration and counterfeiting of different alcoholic drinks.
A Statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, Mr Tobechukwu Ikenga explains that during the interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime and led the police operatives to the make shift factory where different adulterated products were recovered.
The Statement emphasises that the suspects are currently in police custody, while the exhibits have been secured for forensic examination.
