The Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, who announced this while briefing Journalists on the outcome of this week’s Executive Council Meeting presided over by the Governor said the move is part of the State’s industrial transformation agenda aimed at revitalising the hospitality sector.

Prince Kanu said the Enyimba International Hotel Limited is a trademark of the State and had about a year ago signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Radisson Blu Group, an international hospitality brand to manage the facility upon completion.

According to the Commissioner, the hotel, which will be retrofitted and renovated to Five-Star standards, will have 250 rooms upon full completion, beginning initially with 155 rooms before scaling up.

The Commissioner explained that the Enyimba International Hotel when completed would generate 5,500 direct and indirect jobs stressing that much measure would boost the State’s Internally Generated Revenue.

Prince Kanu disclosed that the State Ministry of Works is currently undertaking direct labour projects at 14 locations across the state with four road projects already completed.  He expressed satisfaction with the pace of work at the 31 contract projects currently going across the State.
