Anambra state Police Command has arrested the suspected ringleader of a criminal syndicate in Ogidi, in a breakthrough that has led to the recovery of different arms and ammunitions.
The suspect, identified as Chukwuka Anene, male, aged 46 was arrested following sustained investigation by the command.
The arrest came after personnel of the command’s Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu had apprehended three suspects linked to the ringleader.
A Statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state Tochukwu Ikenga explains that during interrogation the suspected ringleader confessed to being the armourer of the criminal gang.
The statement reveals that the Command has intensified efforts to apprehend the other fleeing members of the gang.
It reassures residents of Anambra state of the command’s commitment to ensure the safety and security of all law-abiding citizens of the state.
