The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has called for renewed commitment to protecting children and young people from the scourge of drug abuse through sustained awareness, prevention, and support initiatives.
Mrs. Soludo, emphasized that drug abuse steals dreams, destroys potential and the future of young people, while weakening the fabric of homes and communities.
She made the remarks as the world observed International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day.
She stressed the need for all hands to be on deck in building a healthier, safer, and drug-free society where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
The wife of the Governor urged residents of Anambra State to take a firm stand against drug abuse at all levels.
Mrs. Soludo reaffirmed her dedication, alongside various stakeholders, to champion grassroots efforts aimed at combating substance abuse and its devastating effects on the youth and society at large.
