Two police officers and one civilian have allegedly been killed by yet to be identified persons in Anambra State.

The incident occurred late Sunday night on Awa- Ndiukwuenu road.

An eye witness said the officers in company of the civilians were on transit when the hoodlums attacked their vehicle leaving some wounded and three dead.

Confirming the incident in a telephone conversation with Radio Nigeria the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, Tochukwu Ikenga said two officers paid the Supreme price.

The PPRO who described the incident as unfortunate said the Command was already on top of the situation.

He called on residents of the area to remain calm as efforts were on to apprehend the perpetrators.
