The Anambra State government has directed all mortuary owners and operators across the state to ensure proper registration and renewal of their operating licenses in line with the Public Health Law of the State.

The directive is part of the state government’s ongoing healthcare reform and regulatory policy.

According to the directive , all mortuaries currently operating in the state but not registered with the Ministry of Health, Awka, are required to immediately commence their registration process for proper identification.

It further urges, hospitals providing mortuary services to register their mortuary units independently, regardless of the registration status of the hospitals.

The government warns that the directive also applies to mortuary facilities operating illegally or without proper approval within the state.
