The All Progressives Congress, APC, has won all 17 chairmanship positions and 260 councillorship seats in the Enugu State Local Government elections.
The Chairman of the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission, ENSIEC, Professor Christian Ngwu, announced the results following the completion of the collation exercise.
Professor Ngwu declared the APC candidates winners of all the chairmanship and councillorship positions contested in the election, giving the party control of all 17 Local Government Areas and the political wards across the state.
He described the victory as a call to service, urging the newly elected council chairmen to work for the development and wellbeing of their respective communities.
The ENSIEC chairman also commended electoral officers for their efforts and thanked the people of Enugu State for their participation and peaceful conduct throughout the election.
The announcement has brought the Enugu State Local Government elections to a counclsion.
