The Anambra State Executive Council ANSIEC has approved a regulatory Framework for Cooperatives in the State.
The Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Doctor Law Mefor stated this at the end of the State Executive Council, (ANSEC) meeting in Awka.
Doctor Mefor noted that the framework sets irreducible operational standards to ensure viability, scalability, and protection of members’ investments.
He said the Council admonished members and political office holders to wield power responsibly and with restraint, emphasizing that power must be deployed for public purposes and the common good, in line with democratic ideals, and must not be abused.
The Information and Value Reformation Commissioner stated the economics of the Anambra Aerotropolis was further reviewed, saying that the project is envisioned as an export emporium and economic gateway to eastern Nigeria.
The Information Commissioner also dislosed that Anambra State will mark 35 years of its creation on Thursday this week.
He mentioned that the anniversary would be observed under the theme, “Our Environment, Our Future.”
He said the celebration will spotlight efforts toward a clean and green Anambra and address environmental challenges threatening the state with a focus on tree-planting campaign and a media chat with Mr. Governor
