Nigerian workers have been described as the true strength of the nation and the driving force of the economy.
The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze who stated this
in a goodwill message to mark this year’s International Workers’ Day commended workers, especially those in Anambra State, for their resilience, dedication and sacrifices towards building an efficient civil and public service system.
He noted that the administration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo has created an enabling environment for workers in the state through improved welfare packages, job security and other incentives aimed at enhancing productivity.
The Speaker praised the state government for reforming and transforming the state’s civil and public service through enhanced remuneration, regular training and retraining of workers, as well as prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities.
He cited the outstanding performance of Anambra teachers and other civil servants who have continued to secure top positions in various competitions, attributing the feat to the strong partnership between the state government and the workforce.
The Speaker urged workers to remain committed to their responsibilities and avoid actions capable of tarnishing their reputation or the image of the state.
