The Police Command in Anambra state says it has intensified security measures across the state ahead of the second-term inauguration of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
This is coming as dignitaries from within and outside the country prepare to grace the ceremony scheduled for March 17, 2026.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the command said it has collaborated with other security agencies to step up operations, public sensitization, and advocacy to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free event.
The PPRO noted that the command recently received one hundred well-trained and equipped personnel from the Police College, Oji River, who have undergone armed and combat training.
These officers, according to the statement, will complement strategically deployed personnel at critical locations, strengthen patrols, and enhance intelligence gathering before, during, and after the inauguration.
SP Ikenga urged residents, stakeholders, and expected visitors to remain law-abiding and cooperate fully with security personnel, assuring that every effort is being made to guarantee the safety of all dignitaries and members of the public.
The Police Command reiterated its unwavering commitment to providing adequate security for a peaceful atmosphere throughout the ceremony.
