The Anambra State Police Command has arrested the last identified member of the notorious armed robbery and kidnapping gang led by a criminal known as “Pincode.”
Operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department, in the early hours of 23rd September 2026, arrested 25-year-old Olisa Oyelu, alias Obele in connection with a 2023 kidnapping incident that resulted in the death of the victim.
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga , the suspect is alleged to be an active member of the gang involved in the kidnapping operation.
The Command said that at the conclusion of investigative proceedings, Olisa Oyelu would be handed over to the Correctional Centre where “Pincode” and four others are already remanded, awaiting the trail of their case
The arrest followed sustained intelligence gathering and investigation by the police operatives.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, Nnanna Ama, commended the operatives for their perseverance, dedication and intelligence-led approach to the investigation.
He assured residents of Anambra State that the Command would continue to pursue criminal elements within and outside the State until they are brought to justice.
