The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 13, Miller Dantawye, has charged officers and men of Anambra State Police Command to sustain the gains recorded in the fight against violent and organised crime through discipline, professionalism, and strict adherence to the rule of law.
AIG Dantawye gave the charge during an operational visit to the Anambra State Police Command Headquarters in Amawbia, where he reviewed the Command’s security posture and assessed ongoing operations.
He described the operational results presented by the Command as encouraging and directed personnel to build on the achievements.
AIG Dantawye further charged the officers to intensify operations against kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, drug-related offences and other violent crimes and ensure that every operation was conducted with regards for human rights.
Presenting the Anambra State Police Command, operational score card in the last one month,the Commissioner of Police, Nnanna Ama, disclosed that it rescued three kidnapped victims and arrested 57 suspects in connection with kidnapping, armed robbery, cult-related violence, murder and other serious offences.
He also reported the recovery of 18 assorted firearms and 43 rounds of ammunition, as well as the destruction of a criminal camp.
He reaffirmed the Command’s determination to deny criminals freedom of action and ensure that Anambra remains hostile to kidnapping, armed robbery, cult violence and other forms of organised criminality.
