The Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has joined the rest of the world in celebrating the courage, compassion, and selfless service of the men and women of the Nigerian Red Cross Society and the global International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
In a special message to mark this year’s World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, the Anambra First Lady paid glowing tributes to these everyday heroes whose unwavering sacrifice continues to bring hope to humanity in times of crisis.
Mrs Soludo said from the bustling streets of major cities to the remotest villages across the federation, these dedicated volunteers stand tall as beacons of hope.
According to her, whether responding swiftly to devastating floods, providing emergency healthcare support in conflict-affected communities, or offering life-saving interventions during accidents and disasters, the Red Cross continues to embody the highest ideals of humanity.
Mrs. Soludo reminded all Nigerians that compassion remains one of the greatest forces for healing and unity.
She noted that from disaster response to healthcare support and critical humanitarian interventions, the Red Cross stands firmly for compassion, dignity, and service to humanity.
