Two persons have been killed in a fatal road accident involving two commercial trucks at Agu-Awka on the Awka-Enugu Expressway in Anambra State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra Sector Command, said the incident occurred during the late hours of Thursday near Jezco Filling Station.
According to the Corps, a Mercedes 911 truck travelling at high speed applied brake suddenly due to ongoing construction on the road leading to it’s being hit on the rear by a Tanker .
The impact the corps explained caused a spark that led to an explosion that burnt two occupants of the trucks, while the other two sustained various degrees of injuries.
A statement by the Sector Public Education Officer, Margaret Onabe, said
the injured victims were rescued by good Nigerians and taken to Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital, Amaku, Awka, for treatment.
