Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has forwarded second batch of commissioner nominees for screening and confirmation.
The nominees were presented during plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze.
The Speaker subsequently referred the them to the House Committee on Screening and Election Matters for further legislative action in line with parliamentary procedure.
Those referred to the committee included Architect Henry Arinze, Commissioner-designate for Housing; Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu, Commissioner-designate for Commerce; and Dr. Ezeaka Uwaeme, Executive Secretary-designate of the Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, ASHIA.
The development comes as the House also prepares to confirm the first batch of commissioner nominees who had earlier undergone screening.
The screening exercise is part of the constitutional responsibility of the State Assembly to ensure that nominees meet the required qualifications for public office before confirmation.
