The Nigeria Police Force has issued insurance cheques valued at over seventeen million naira to the families of personnel under the Abia State Police Command who either died or were affected in the line of duty.
Presenting the cheques on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Wilfred Afolabi, said the gesture underscores the commitment of the Inspector General of Police to the welfare of officers and their families, particularly those who paid the ultimate price or suffered losses while working.
CP Afolabi urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the funds to expand their business ventures or give their children quality education.
Some of the recipients including Mr. Edomobi Victor, and Anthony Bagi, thanked the Police for making the funds available and promised to put the money to good use.
Our correspondent reports that a total of 21 cheques were issued to the beneficiaries.
