Governor Alex Oti of Abia state has described the recent ranking of the state as the third best performing state out of thirty three states in Nigeria rated by the Phillips Consulting State Performance Momentum Index Report as a reflection of the impact of his administration’s reformative Programmes on the people.
The ranking measured the performance of state in the areas of public service delivery, healthcare, infrastructure, amongst others.
Governor Alex Otti who stated this during the July edition of his monthly Media Parley tagged “Governor Otti Speaks”, in Umuahia, said the ranking was the 2025 edition published in 2026.
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining the tempo of development and transformation in the state.
He cited changing the attitude of residents of the state on environmental cleanliness as an evidence that the government’s reforms were beginning to reshape behaviour across the state.
He noted that work was progressing on the state’s digital mapping programme and explained that it was a strategic project that would support urban planning, land administration, infrastructure development and investment.
On transportation, Governor Otti announced that another batch of 20 electric buses would soon arrive in the state to expand the government’s mass transit programme.
He commended security agencies for maintaining peace across the state, noting that security remains a critical foundation for economic development and investment.
The Governor warned that the state government would not hesitate to demolish any building discovered to be a hideout kidnappers.
