Ebonyi State government has presented Eight Hundred and Eighty Four Billion, Eight Hundred and Sixty Eight Million, Three Hundred and Twenty Seven Thousand, Four Hundred and Twenty Nine Naira as the State’s Budget proposal for the 2026 Fiscal Year.
Presenting the Budget at the floor of the State House of Assembly in Abakaliki, Governor Francis Nwifuru explained that the Capital Expenditure stood at over Seven Hundred and Forty Nine Billion Naira representing eighty four percent of the total budget while Recurrent was put at about One hundred and thirty five Billion Naira.
Christened Budget of Actualization and Hope, the Governor pointed out that the 2026 proposal was higher by sixty eight point eight eight percent to that of 2025 budget while the state plans to generate over Forty eight Billion Naira internally and receive over four hundred and sixty nine billion Naira from FAAC Allocation to fund the budget.
The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr Moses Odunwa described the budget proposal as impressive and assured the State Governor of accelerated passage after necessary legislative inputs.
