Abia APC has instituted a Seven man committee after a harmonization meeting in Abuja to conduct it’s wards and Local government congress alongside other national members of the party in 184 wards in the state.
The Deputy Speaker, Chief Benjamin Kalu who stated this while addressing stakeholders of the party in the state at Renew Hope Partners office in Umuahia said the essence of the Harmornisation was to strengthen unity and cohesion within the party.
Chief Kalu further noted that the move would give all stakeholders a sense of belonging in selecting leaders from the ward to the state level, stressing that all members are equal as no individual owns APC but it belongs to every member.
He explained that the party’s NEC and caucus had agreed that there would be no parallel processes or multiple forms that could breed conflictand and noted that such had occurred in the state, leading to the swift intervention by the National Chairman and the National Working Committee.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the APC Ward and Local Government Congress Committee, Mr Emmanuel Goar, assured members that the committee would strictly adhered to the harmonisation directive and conduct transparent and credible congresses that reflect the will of party stakeholders.
For his part the Chairman of the Abia seven-man committee working with the national body led by Sir Mark Wabara among other members thanked the party leadership for the trust reposed in them and pledged that the committee would not disappoint the party.
They appealed for the cooperation of members to ensure a smooth, peaceful, and credible process across the state.
