The All-Progressive Congress party, APC, Abia state says it remained united, resolute, and forward-looking as it consolidates its structures for greater victories ahead in 2027 general elections.

The Stakeholders of the party from the 17 Local Government Areas in the state who unianimously announced this during the Abia APC Pre-congress meeting organized in Bende, the country home of the Deputy Speaker, Chief Benjamin Kalu explained that Abia APC also adopted President Ahmed Bola Tinubu as their candidate next year general elections.

The adoption followed the President’s bold reform agenda, commitment to national unity, and adherence to the power rotation principle and policies aimed at addressing Nigeria’s structural challenges.

In a communique unianimously signed by Stakeholders said that the meeting aimed at deepen grassroots mobilisation and sustain momentum in the ongoing membership e-registration exercise to strengthen the party’s structure across all wards and local government areas in the State

The communique reaffirmed an unwavering commitment to unity, reconciliation, and collective progress and urged members to prioritise party interests above personal considerations.

According to the communique there is need for massive participation in the ongoing voter registration exercise conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission to ensure that all eligible members and supporters are empowered to enable them participate in the forthcoming elections.

The Stakeholders unianimously appointed the Deputy Speaker, Chief Benjamin Kalu as the leader of the Abia APC.

Earlier in an opening remarks, the Deputy Speaker, Chief Benjamin Kalu announced that the membership of APC in Abia state has risen to over 160,000 stressing that the number would change the narrative in the state to deliver President Ahmed Tinubu in Abia come 2027.

The Deputy Speaker urged the members of the party to be courageous and assured them of equity and fairness.

The Pre-congress Abia APC meeting attracted over 180 stakeholders of APC members from the 17 LGAs including party leaders, elected and appointed officials, amongst others.
