The Anambra State Police Command has provided financial support to facilitate urgent medical treatment of the 10-year old boy who was allegedly subjected to severe abuse by his guardian in Isiowulu, Obosi in Anambra State.
A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga says the gesture underscores the Command’s commitment to protecting vulnerable members of the society, especially children and ensuring that victims of abuse receive the necessary care and support.
The Command through its Operatives attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka, Anambra State, while expressing concern after witnessing the severity of the child’s condition, rendered support for his medical care and recovery.
It further stated that the Command remains committed to promoting justice, compassion, and the protection of human rights in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police.
The Statement adds that the Command has intensified its investigation into the incident and is committed to ensuring that all individuals found culpable are brought to justice in accordance with the law.
The Anambra Commissioner of Police, Mr Ikioye Orutugu reassures residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to collaborating with relevant government agencies, child protection organizations, and community stakeholders to promote and safeguard the rights, safety and the welfare of children throughout the State.
