The Anambra State Police Command says it is committed to upholding the highest level of professionalism in the police recruitment exercise.

The Command further pledged to remain committed to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity and integrity of the Nigeria Police Force, noting that the exercise would be transparent, hitch-free and merit-based.

The Commissioner of Police in the State CP Ikioye Orutugu who gave the assurance when he played host to the Secretary of the Police Service Commission, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani at the Command’s Headquarters in Awka, thanked PSC Secretary for the visit.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga says the Secretary of the PSC was in Anambra State on official monitoring tour of the ongoing police recruitment screening exercise across the South East zone.

The Police Image Maker stated that the PSC Secretary had meaningful engagement with the Police team, the Police Service Commission team, the Federal Character Commission representatives and other critical stakeholders in the recruitment exercise and assured that the Commission would continue to partner with the Command on sensitization drives to encourage indigenes of the state to join the Force.

The PPRO also says that the Secretary of PSC commended the level of organization and professionalism displayed by the Anambra State Recruitment Screening Team.

According to Mr Tochukwu Ikenga, the visit was part of the Commission’s oversight responsibility to make sure that the recruitment exercise was in line with established guidelines of transparency, fairness and merit.
