A bill seeking the establishment of Anambra State Rural Access Road Agency, ASRARA, has been passed by the state House of Assembly.

This followed the consideration of report presented by the House Committees on Judiciary, Justice and that of works.

Before the passage of the bill the house dissolved to the Committee on the whole where the law makers took their time to propose amendments, corrections and inputs.
The house there after reverted to plenary where the Speaker, Mr Somtochukwu Udeze reported progress in the bill.

According to the Majority Leader of the House, Mr Ikenna Ofodeme, the passed bill is for the purpose of the overall management, development, rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintenance of Class C and Class D roads in Anambra State.

The bill when operational will also improve rural access, transport infrastructure and agricultural marketing and make provisions for connected matters.

The House also passed another bill which seeks for the establishment of Anambra State Road Fund Board ,ASRFB 2026 after clause by clause consideration of the report presented by relevant House Committees

The aim of the bill is for the purpose of funding the management, planning, development, rehabilitation, reconstruction and maintenance of Class C and Class D roads in Anambra State and to make provisions for connected matters.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent Uche Ndeke reports that the House adjurned sitting to the 24th of March for further legislative activities.
