The 2027 Anambra State Government budget will be anchored on transparency, fiscal discipline, integrity, and evidence-based project selection.
This is to effectively drive the development agenda of the state government.
The State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Chukwukadibia Okoye, stated this while inaugurating members of the 2027 Anambra State Budget Committee at the state secretariat, Awka.
He charged them to approach their assignment with commitment, teamwork and a sense of ownership.
The Commissioner stressed that the budget process must reflect the genuine needs and aspirations of the people, with projects selected strictly on merit and supported by accurate costing and realistic projections.
Mr. Okoye highlighted early budget preparation, synergy among Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), as well as disciplined implementation as critical drivers for successful budget outcomes.
He urged the committee to prioritize people-centred planning that aligns with the overall development objectives of the present administration in the state.
