The Anambra state government has assured schools in the state of its commitment to promoting initiatives that encourage innovation, creativity and hands-on learning.
The state Commissioner for Education,Dr Ekene Ogugua stated this in Onitsha during a programme designed to expose children and young people to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics through practical learning, competitions and creative activities.
The Commissioner said the future of education must go beyond classroom instruction, stressing the need to equip students with practical skills, critical thinking,creative and problem-solving abilities that will prepare them for the demands of the modern world.
According to him, the vision of the Soludo administration is to raise a generation of young Anambra citizens who will not only look for jobs but will become producers, innovators, technologists and creators of solutions.
“We are preparing our children not just for the jobs of today, but for the opportunities of tomorrow.”
He commended the organisers of the programme for providing children with opportunities to explore science and technology in an engaging and practical environment.
The Education commissioner insisted that the transformation of Anambra schools into centres of technology, production, science and innovation remains a key part of the State Government’s vision for a future-ready education system.
