Anambra State House of Assembly has confirmed the second batch of commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Chukwuma Soludo during plenary.
The confirmed nominees are Mr Henry Arinze for the Ministry of Housing and Mr. Chukwuma Ebonwu for the Ministry of Commerce.
Presenting the report of the Committee on Screening and Electoral Matters, the Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Committee, Mr Chukwuma Okoye, said the nominees satisfied all statutory requirements for public office and demonstrated the necessary academic qualifications as well as professional competence.
Speaking after the confirmation, the Speaker of the House, Doctor Somtochukwu Udeze, described the appointment as a call to service, noting that Governor Soludo had reposed great confidence in the nominees.
Doctor Udeze reminded the newly confirmed commissioners that expectations from the people of Anambra State were high and urged them to discharge their duties with dedication, integrity, and commitment to the development of the state.
He emphasized that their positions were meant to serve the people and advised them to ensure their actions reflected the trust bestowed on them.
Responding on behalf of the nominees, the Commissioner-designate for Housing, Mr Henry Arinze, expressed appreciation to the House for the confidence reposed in them and pledged to work assiduously towards advancing the development agenda of the Soludo administration.
