The Anambra State Government has shut down the New Auto Spare Parts Market in Nkwo Nnewi for one week .
The market will be closed from is today, Monday, 23 February, 2026 to Monday, 2nd March, 2026.
A starement by the Commissioner for Information, Doctor Law Mefor says the closure of the market followed low compliance of traders with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s order to end Monday sit-at-home in Anambra State.
The statement advises traders and customers to stay away from the market during the period of the closure to being arrested by law enforcement agents.
It warns that the e market may face further closure if compliance is not substantial by next Monday, when the will be reopened.
Meanwhile, normal activities have resumed in Anambra State on Mondays following the Governor Soludo order last month to the observance of sit at home.
