About 10,000 students across the 17 local government areas of Abia State have benefitted from the 2026 free JAMB scholarship under the South East Renewed Hope Agenda of President Ahmed Bola Tunibu.
Speaking during the exercise in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, the National coordinator South-East Renewed Hope Agenda, SERHA, Mr Belusochukwu Enwerem said the initiative aimed at supporting indigent but brilliant students for academic excellence and reducing financial burden on parents and guardians.
Mr. Enwerem reaffirmed the commitment of President Bola Tinubu for providing Abia students with equal access to tertiary education and vision of building a knowledge-driven and economically powered Southeast.
According to him, when a child is empowered with education, a family and state have been strengthen and maintained that the scholarship was not just financial support but vote of confidence in the students’ potential by the President and urged them to make their parents and the country proud.
While noting that the Renewed Hope agenda remains youth focused, education driven and development oriented, the National Coordinator South-East Renewed Hope Agenda, noted that the initiatives would continue to uplift the people and create real opportunities for development and progress.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Miss Chetachi Abraham, Master Chinonso Gospel and Uchechukwu Ebi all commended President Bola Tinubu for the free 2026 JAMB registrations
They noted that the gesture had lifted the financial burden from their parents and pledged to be good ambassador of the state and Nigeria at large.
Correspondent reports that the JAMB Candidates were handed cash envelopes worth Eight thousand, five hundred naira each for the registeration of the examinations to enable them to study any course of their choice.
