Abia State Police Command has recovered 28 skulls and bones suspected to be those of kidnap victims in Isuochi, Umunneochi Local Government Area.
The discovery was made following a raid by operatives of the command comprising several tactical teams and officers from the Isuochi Divisional Police Station on some suspected criminal camps located in the forests at Umuaku and Nneato, both in Isuochi.
A statement by the Command’s spokesperson, Maureen Chinaka, says investigation is ongoing while the area is being monitored with a view to apprehending suspects that fled when the tactical teams arrived.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, CP Wilfred Afolabi, reiterates the commitment of the Command to deny criminals of many hiding place, while urging residents to report security concerns to the nearest police station.
