Two suspects have been arraigned before an Onitsha High court by the Anambra State police command over the murder of their employer, Mr. Ikechukwu Simon Nwite.
The suspects are also accused of stealing over Eight Million Naira belonging to the deceased.
Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed that
the prime suspect, 21-year-old Chiemerie Anieke, allegedly used a pestle to strike his employer, Mr. Ikechukwu Nwite, on the head, resulting in his death.
Mr Ikenga further said that the prime suspect is also linked to an attack on the deceased’s wife, Mrs. Ogechukwu Nwite, at Fegge area of Onitsha.
The prime suspect was arraigned alongside 21-year-old Godwin Nnabuike Nwokporo, who allegedly aided the commission of the crime by providing a bank account through which over Eight Million Naira belonging to the deceased was fraudulently transferred.
The operatives of the Command recovered Six Million Naira from the suspects, which was tenderd as exhibit in the court.
Both suspects have been remanded at the Correctional Centre, pending further proceedings in the matter.
