The Federal Government has expressed satisfaction with the speed and quality of work being done on the first stretch of the four hundred and sixty five kilometer third Legacy Road Project initiated by President Bola Tinubu.

The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi stated this during an inspection of Federal Road projects in Ebonyi State.

Section one of the third Legacy Road project starts from Calabar and stretches from Ndibe Beach in Afikpo Local Government Area through Afikpo Town, Timber Shade Junction Amasiri, Onueke, Ukwuachi, Mbeke Ishieke before terminating at Ebonyi and Benue State boundary.

The Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi explained that the total contract sum for the section one was four hundred and fifty four billion Naira.

Senator Umahi pointed out that President Bola Tinubu had directed that the fourth legacy project covering four hundred and thirty nine kilometres from Akwanga be extended to Maiduguri through Bauchi and Gombe covering three hundred and thirty kilometres.

He also inspected on going sixty nine kilometer Dangote Cash Credit Road Project from Amasiri through Uturu to Okigwe in Imo State and ongoing twenty three span Flyover project at Onueke as well as Ndibe Beach Bridge linking South East Corridor with Lagos Calabar Coastal Highway.

The Minister of Works commended indigenous contractors for their ingenuity in the handing of the projects emphasizing that when completed the Federal government would implement tolling system on the Highways with solar powered CCTV surveillance camera to enhance economic activities and security.
