As activities leading to 2027 election gain momentum,
political actors in Nigeria have been challenged to look inwards and find a solution to the current poverty level of the people.
A Catholic Priest, Reverend Father Emmanuel Obimma who stated this in an interview at Umudioka in Dunukofia Local Government Area, argued that the current economic situation requires leaders with compassionate heart in tackling the economic disequilibrium in the country.
Reverend Father Obimma stressed the importance of self denial in governance by the political leaders who tend to abandon the people when they assume power but go back to them in another election period.
He, however, appreciated the current security architecture being put in Anambra State, saying that the government yielded to calls of people like him in constituting the “Udo g’achi” security outfit which has contained the insecurity in the area.
He believes that the spate of kidnapping in Anambra State and neighbouring states had drastically reduced with people now going about their businesses without fear.
Reverend Father Obimma therefore appealed to Governor Chukwuma Soludo to sustain the current security architecture in the state to create conducive environment for development to thrive.
