The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu has reacted to last Saturday’s Gubernatorial election outcome in Anambra State.
APC came second behind the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA in the Governorship Election results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on Sunday.
APGA scored over 400,000 votes to beat APC, which garnered over 99,000 votes in the election.
Addressing journalists in Awka, Prince Ukachukwu expressed happiness over the support of his party loyalists before and during the elections.
However, the APC Governorship Candidate, alleged that the party’s supporters were beaten, arrested and intimidated, while its vehicles were burnt during the polls.
According to Prince Ukachukwu, over 200 APC members arrested during the election were those deployed in the disbursement of stipends to party agents.
On the steps to be taken by the party following the announcement of the outcome of the election, he explained that APC would make its decision known after carefully conferring with stakeholders.
Prince Ukachukwu noted that APC supporters were unhappy over political happenings in Anambra State, stressing that the final results were indication that the party did not engage in vote buying during the election.
He totally condemned the burning of the home of a female member in Anambra East, insisting that security agencies should investigate such to determine its roots.
