The need to ensure that one has a healthy bone through out ones life time time has been stressed
This is to avoid having osteoporosis which can lead to bone fragility at old age.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Enugu a Professor of Radiology, Professor Ngozi Njeze, encouraged people to eat right,and desist from eating junk foods to escape osteoporosis
Also an expert in radiation medicine, Emeritus Professor Ifeoma Okoye regretted that most parents as well as their children embrace sedentary life style which lead to chronic diseases like bone fragility, diabetics among others.
Professor Okoye, however advised parents and young people to invest in their health by cultivating the habit of exercising, eating fruits and vegetables.
Also contributing a Professor of law, Professor Joy Ezilo noted with dismay that a lot of women especially in the rural villages are down with this bone disease and are spending Fortune on pain killers.
She urged people to go back to the olden days life style where people eat more of local food, exercise by being active in a natural environment which helps them have good health.
Mr. Godknows Obinna who suffered from Osteoporosis said it is a painful experience urging people especially young adults to be mindful of their lifestyle and take charge of their health while they were still young to avoid the condition late in life.
