The Labour Party Governorship Candidate in Anambra, Doctor George Moghalu has reacted to the outcome of Saturday’s Gubernatorial election in the area.
Addressing a Press Conference at Nnewi, Doctor Moghalu, alleged that the election was not credible and fell short of an acceptable outcome.
He said that his supporters and other members of the party were compiling their reports on the election, stressing that he would study it for further comments.
Doctor Moghalu stressed that there was massive vote buying and selling, which further rendered the results unacceptable.
According to him, an election in which poverty was weaponized could not have been said to be free and fair.
Doctor Moghalu also alleged that one of his supporters was picked up from his house in Obosi, intimidated and beaten.
He noted that despite the assurances that the police would offer adequate protection during the election, it never prevented some stakeholders from engaging in vote buying.
The Labour Party Governorship Candidate further frowned upon the presence of underaged voters, who were registered and allowed to cast their votes during the election.
Doctor Moghalu said he already had a report indicating that the name, Labour Party was not captured on the ballot paper, as only its logo was printed.
