Coal City FM 92.9MHZ, Enugu” is located within the Broadcasting Housing of Radio Nigeria, Enugu at Onitsha Road, in the Coal City State Capital. Since it hit the air waves for the first time on the 1st of July 2001 as the first FM Station in the stable of the Zonal Station, Coal City FM 92.9MHZ, has taken every segment of the society along with programmes for both old and young. It beams clear and captivating programmes for children, women, the youth and men, as well as a wide range on human
endeavor. The accommodation of all interests under an FM format (lightheartedness) has since won the heart of all categories of listeners and advertisers. Right now, over thirty programmes on the station are sponsored. There is still enough room for more. The station was adjudged the overall Best Radio Station South East for the year 2007 by an independent organization. Link-up Event Managers and Silver Cee Promotion. To capture and provide for the listening need of the Igbo speaking audience, new programmes, including the early morning Igbo breakfast show “Ogene Coal City” on Thursdays have been introduced.
