The Federal Road Safety Corps has intensified efforts to ease traffic flow and ensure safety along one of Nigeria’s busiest transport corridor

Sector Commanders of the FRSC in Anambra and Delta States, Corps Commander Bridget Asekhauno and Corps Commander Joyce N. Alexander, have carried out a joint operational oversight visit to the Onitsha and Asaba Bridge Heads.

The visit was aimed at assessing traffic management activities at the strategic corridor, which serves as a major gateway linking the southeastern and southwestern parts of the country.

During the inspection, the commanders evaluated traffic control measures, personnel deployment, and compliance with established operational procedures.

They observed major challenges including heavy traffic congestion, unauthorized parking, and non-compliance by some motorists.

The sector commanders interacted with officers on duty, emphasizing the need for professionalism, courtesy, and strict enforcement of road safety regulations.

The FRSC commanders reaffirmed the commands commitment to providing safe and efficient transportation networks across the region, especially as traffic volume increases during the yuletide season.

Residents and road users were also advised to cooperate with traffic officials and obey road safety rules to ensure a safe and hitch-free journey for all.
