Federal government has been called upon to prioritise security of lives of Nigerians in their budget as well as approve proposal for the establishment of state police to curb insecurity in the country .
The wife of the bishop of Udi diocese, church of Nigeria Anglican communion, Mrs Comfort Aneke made the call in her presidential address to the 17th Diocesan Women Conference held at St Stephen’s church Udi, Enugu state

The wife of the bishop Mrs Comfort Aneke expressed concern that the increasing reports of bandit attacks and kidnapping makes everywhere unsafe for travellers.
Mrs. Aneke wants the federal government to declare state of emergency on federal roads in the south east to contain insecurity in the area.
Speaking on choice of the theme of the Conference,”Faith moves Mountain”,Mrs Aneke noted that it was aimed at reassuring those who have lost confidence in God that there is still hope for them.
Also speaking on the occasion, the bishop of Udi Diocese, the Right Rev Chijioke Aneke emphasised that the hardship being experienced in the country could only be overcome through unwavering faith in God .
Bishop Aneke encouraged the women to remain resolute and steadfast in their service to God and humanity.
The Vicar St Stephen Parish Udi Archdeaconry, Venerable, Humphrey Ezeodili and the Chairman Local Organising Committee of the Conference, Mr Obiora Udechukwu thanked God for successful hosting of the programme.
The wife of the Archbishop of Enugu province, Dr. Faith Eze described the theme of the conference as an eye-opener towards exercising faith in God
A representative of the Enugu state governor, and commissioner for Human Development and poverty reduction, Professor Benedict Okolie while reiterating the administration’ s committment to empowering women and girls in the state.
Two of the delegates, Mrs Amaka Eneasato and Mrs Ethel Agu said they have acquired more knowledge from the conference.
The women conference featured fund raising in support of the women hospital project among others.
