“Onwa Dezemba” in Anambra State is a phenomenal initiative by the administration of Professor Charles Soludo which has brought immense joy and excitement to the people of Anambra State.
The programme, which witnessed a thrilling football match between the old Rangers International players of Anambra extraction and selected All Stars was a testament to Governor Soludo’s commitment to promoting unity, talent development, and community engagement.
By dedicating an entire month to celebrate the spirit of December, the Governor has created a platform for Ndi- Anambra to come together, showcase their skills and have fun.
The football match that took place at Awka City Stadium was just one of the many events lined up, and it was fantastic to see the enthusiasm and passion of the participants.
The Chairman of Anambra State Football Association and the BOT Chairman of all Nigerian Players Union, Mr Chikelue Iloenyosi appreciated the Governor and his Deputy for the hospitality for people to know that Anambra State has an enabling environment.
Mr Iloenyosi said that the novelty match between Ex- Rangers International and Anambra All stars was organised by the government, noting that it was a huge success.
For her part, Chigozie Chukwulote gave Kudos to Governor Soludo and his team for conceptualizing and executing the wonderful initiative.
One of the players, Chief Michael Mbaezua commended the FA Chairman for introducing such an innovation in Anambra State by bringing old Rangers International Enugu verses Anambra All stars to play together.
Another player, Mr Ifunanya Nwankwo expressed happiness for the government initiating such a novelty match among them, that reconnected all stars after so many years.
Correspondent Nkiru Egwui reports that the novelty match ended with penalty shoot out with with All Stars taking the victory.
