Anambra State is said to be one of the states in Nigeria when it comes to technology advancement.
The Managing Director, Anambra State Information and Communication Technology Agency, Mr Chukwuemeka Agbata stated this during a defence of the 2026 budget estimate at the State House of Assembly.
According to him, the present administration had a baseline study and found out that the state civil servants lacked capacity in technology which forced most of them to go outside to do even photocopy of official documents.
Mr Agabata noted that after a while the Soludo led government changed the narrative and empowered most of the civil servants who now have access to ICT.
He said so far, some government institutions , Ministries, Departments and Agencies including the New Government House, House of Assembly, Anambra State University, Schools of Health in Obosi and Nsugbe have been digitalized as they now have high speed internet connectivity.
Mr Agbata regretted that there had been several cyber attacks on the state internet infrastructure but noted that with proactive and solid cyber team in the agency. the situation was always brought to control.
The House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation during the Bilateral discussion approved the budget size estimated by the agency and commended them for accessing a good percentage of the approved 2025 Appropriation for ICT.
