Governor Alex Otti of Abia state says the present administration in the state is creating prosperity for the residents through reforms, infrastructural renewal and economic expansion.
Governor Otti stated this at the Government House Umuahia, during an enlarged meeting with some Pentecostal Ministers in the state brainstorming on issues affecting the residents and ways forward.
The Governor who was represented his Chief staff Pastor Caleb Ajagba appealed for continuous intercession from religious fathers in the state to ensure the desired democratic processes were sustained.
According to Governor Otti, Abia requires collective responsibility from both government and the church to achieve the desired transformation, pointing out that spiritual leaders have enormous influence over the moral and social direction of the society.
He called on the Clerics to sensitize their congregants on the importance of obtaining and revalidating their Permanent Voter Cards in the ongoing voter registration exercise.
While debunking the allegation of “eating alone” Governor Otti insisted that his government had initiated various intervention programmes and infrastructural projects to ensure the people of the state enjoy dividends of democracy.
In their separate contributions during the meeting, some of the Pentecostal ministers including Pastor Ndukwe Kalu of Christ Embassy, Reverend Uche Ume of Power World Ministries and Pastor Courage Imolore of Omega Fire Ministry all commended the Governor’s commitment to repositioning the state and encouraged him to sustain the tempo.
They appealed to him to do more on security, invest on youths to reduce youth restiveness, address workers welfare and have close monitoring on the people hired to enforce policies of government amongst others.
