An armed robbery suspect and notorious cultist in Anambra State, Solomon Chukwuka has died in an encounter with Operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugu-Ukwu.
The 21 years old male suspect had attempted to escape during a search conducted in their den in Amikwo, Awka in Awka South Local Government Area by the operatives.
A Statement by Police Public Relations Officer, in Anambra State Tochukwu Ikenga explains that during the search, one pump-action gun, two locally made pistols and some expanded ammunition were recovered.
The statement reveals that the Operatives also, successfully repelled the ambush laid by other members of the gang during the search operation with some of them escaping with serious body injuries.
Meanwhile, the Police are working on information that could led to the arrest of fleeing members of the gang and their leader.
