As part of new year celebration, the Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Mrs. Nonye Soludo has visited and celebrated babies born on New Year’s Day across the state, fondly referred to as New Year Babies.
Mrs. Soludo described the visits as a spiritual journey and an important yearly ritual, where she pays homage to God for His precious gifts while sharing in the joy of the divine blessings.
The Wife of the Governor said she was equally pleased to hear exciting testimonies from mothers who did antenatal care and had their delivery (including C-Section births) all at zero costs, courtesy of the three-year-old free antenatal and delivery services in public hospitals in Anambra State.
It has been widely praised for easing the financial burden on families especially low-income households while promoting maternal and child health, reducing mortality rates, and encouraging access to quality healthcare.
Mrs. Soludo also encouraged the nursing mothers to embrace exclusive breastfeeding for thier children and puts them in a better health condition at all times.
