It was festival of praises as people from all walks of life gathered at Ofuji Arena, Igbere Junction for the all night Maiden Thanksgiving praises and New Year Party celebration.
The event which was put together by a Philanthropist refers as “OFUJI’, Dr. Chima Anyaso to appreciate God for the gift of a New Year also witnessed the empowerment of one hundred Bende youths worth of fifty million naira with each receiving five hundred thousand naira.
Speaking at the event, Governor Alex Otti of the state commended Dr Chima Anyaso for organizing the event and emulating the state government’s financial support initiative to youths of the council.
Governor Otti while referring to the gospel of the old that it was only one out of ten that showed gratitude assured Dr Anyaso more blessings of God as the year unfolds.
In an interview with journalists, the organizer of the maiden Ofuji All White Fireworks and New Year Thanksgiving Party, Dr. Chima Anyaso, said it was a way of appreciating God and giving back to the society especially the downtrodden.
Dr Anyaso who described the Ofuji All White Fireworks Party as historic explained that henceforth it would become an annual ritual and called the people to embrace it.
Speaking on New Year resolutions, the philanthropist described them as individual decisions, belief and urged the people to match works with actions to enable them to excel in their respective endeavours.
Reeling outlining his expectations for the New Year, Dr Anyaso pointed out that 2026 is a year of high hope for political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections stressing that the people also desire better governance to ensure an improved living standard.
On taxation, Dr Anyaso expressed support for the new tax regime but stressed the need for transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.
While raising concerns on alleged insecurity in the South East, Dr Anyaso described the situation as mild unlike the social media representation but urged residents to remain vigilant and security conscious.
