Governor Alex Otti of Abia state says he will never declare any other political ambition after his governorship tenure in the state.
Governor Otti who announced this at Government House Umuahia while reacting to a viral video where he was berated over his recent visit to Sokoto to see Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and alleged that he is nursing presidential or vice presidential ambition after the end of his tenure.
According to the Governor,
criticism is part of democracy and noted that people hold different opinion and does not mean they are eight.
Governor Otti also maintained that it is important for a political office holder to know when to quit, especially when he has carried out his assignments to the people.
The Governor while explaining the essence of his visit to Sokoto to see Mazi Nnamdi Kanu said the matter would not be brought to the public space so that it does not jeopardise every effort.
He pointed out that the issue has been approached from the legal point of view stressing that he is intervening through another window, called the administrative point of view.
The Governor noted that it would be insensitive of him to relax without making efforts and allow one of his subjects who has been convicted to life imprisonment when there is an opportunity to discuss, negotiate, and sue for peace.
