Abia State Government says it has beefed up security in the state following the high spate of insecurity in some parts of states in the country.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Commander MacDonald Uba (Rtd), stated this while briefing Newsmen after the monthly Security Council meeting presided over by Governor Alex Otti in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area.

Commander Uba explained that the government would never relent in tackling security matters especially with the approach of Yuletide and the new year seasons.

He noted that the existing security structures in the state had been reinforced adding that Security Agencies were on high alert across the State.

While maintaining that the state government is responding to National Security trends, the S.A to the Governor on Security told the residents to expect more security presence in strategic locations in the state.

He further urged them to remain law-abiding and cooperate with Security Agencies to ensure seamless operations throughout the festive period.

Correspondent Peace Agbo reports that the meeting which had in attendance with Heads of all Security Agencies operating in the State also reviewed ongoing operations and adopted fresh measures to reinforce public safety ahead of the Yuletide.
